The Housing Prince Index is similar to Canada's Consumer Prince Index (CPI). The HPI is obtained by comparing, through time, the price paid for a benchmark property. The benchmark was re-established at 100 in 2001. This graph illustrates how the benchmnark property has inflated in value since December 2000.
